What category A covers

Category A covers motorcycles and motorized two-wheelers. If you plan to work as a moto-taxi rider, this is the license you need — plus any professional requirements asked by cooperatives or hiring platforms.

The path to your category A license

1. Enroll in an accredited school that offers category A training with proper motorcycles — use our school checklist.
2. Learn the theory. The traffic rules exam is largely the same knowledge base as for cars — signs, right of way, penalties.
3. Practice riding. Balance at low speed, clutch and brake control, cornering, and riding defensively in traffic.
4. Pass both exams — theory first, then the practical riding test.
